Terms & Conditions
Effective date: August 22, 2026
By downloading or using Magic Planning, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before using the app.
1. About Magic Planning
Magic Planning is an independent trip-planning app designed to help groups organize Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort vacations. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The Walt Disney Company or any of its subsidiaries.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use Magic Planning. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when registering
- Keep your password secure and not share it with others
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
Trip owners may invite others to a trip and assign them one of the following account types: Member (full edit access, included in budget), Child Account (view-only, included in budget, may be linked to a guardian), Viewer Account (view-only, excluded from budget), or Travel Agent (full edit access, excluded from budget). Trip owners are responsible for the account types they assign and the access they grant to invitees.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Magic Planning to:
- Upload or share content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
- Upload photos that contain nudity, sexually explicit material, graphic violence, or any content that would be inappropriate for a family audience
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service or its infrastructure
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or otherwise extract data from the app or its API
- Use the app for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any location verification check (such as the WDW property verification in Magic is Out There)
5. Trip Content & User Data
You retain ownership of the content you create in the app (trip details, photos, messages, etc.). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store and display it to members of your trip as part of providing the service.
You are solely responsible for the content you share. Do not include sensitive personal or financial information beyond what the app's features require.
5a. Automated Photo Screening
Photos uploaded to the World Traveller, Magic is Out There, Attraction Tracker, Snack Tracker, and Park Hopper features are screened by automated systems before being displayed to other users. This includes:
- On-device analysis — if you have enabled Sensitive Content Warning in your iOS Settings, Apple's on-device framework may screen images on your device before they are uploaded. This is opt-in and controlled entirely by your device settings.
- Server-side automated review — every photo you upload is analyzed by an AI content moderation system before it becomes visible to your trip members. Photos remain hidden during this review.
Photos that do not comply with our content guidelines are automatically and permanently deleted. No human at Magic Planning reviews photos as part of this process. By uploading a photo, you consent to it being processed by these automated systems.
Automated moderation systems are not perfect. If you believe a photo was incorrectly removed, contact us at support@magic-planning.com.
5b. AI-Assisted Features
Several Magic Planning features use AI to analyze content you provide:
- Receipt scanning (Buddy Pay & Dining) — when you scan a receipt, the receipt image is sent to our server and analyzed by Claude AI (Anthropic) to extract line items, amounts, tax, tip, and merchant name. The image is processed temporarily and is not stored after the analysis is complete.
- Shopping scan — when you scan an item in the Shopping wishlist feature, the item photo is sent to our server and analyzed by Claude AI to auto-fill item details. The image is processed temporarily and is not retained.
- Park Hopper item generation — when a Park Hopper scavenger hunt is created, Claude AI generates a custom list of items based on your trip's parks and hotels. No personal data is transmitted as part of this process.
- Day Planner generation — when you use the Day Planner to generate or rethink a park day itinerary, details about your park day (park name, date, selected attractions, dining reservations, activities, and any optional notes you've entered) are sent to Claude AI to produce a time-blocked schedule. Each generation or rethink consumes one Magic Credit. The resulting plan is stored on our servers and visible to all members of your trip.
- AI Support Chat — when you send a message in the Help & Support AI chat, your message and recent conversation history are sent to Claude AI to generate a response. Chat messages are stored on our servers for up to 72 hours and then automatically deleted. You can also clear your chat manually at any time. No personally identifiable account information is transmitted as part of this process beyond the content of your messages.
By using these AI-assisted features, you consent to the relevant content being processed by Anthropic's Claude AI via our server. Receipt and scan images are used solely to complete the requested analysis and are not stored, shared, or used for any other purpose. Day Planner and AI Support Chat data is used solely to generate the requested output and is subject to Anthropic's data usage policies.
6. Games
Magic Planning includes games available to all users — Magic is Out There, Trivia, Timelines, Word Search, and Park Hopper. By using the Games features, you agree to:
- Play fairly and not attempt to manipulate scores, puzzles, or game outcomes through unauthorized means
- Respect daily usage limits where applicable (Word Search is limited to 10 puzzles per day per device)
- Submit only photos from Walt Disney World Resort property in the Magic is Out There feature — the upload button requires verified on-property location as a condition of use
- Submit only genuine proof-of-find photos in Park Hopper — photos must accurately represent the scavenger hunt item you are claiming to have found
Game content (trivia questions, timeline items, word lists, and Park Hopper item lists) is generated or curated for entertainment purposes. Scavenger hunt items are generated by an AI system and are specific to your trip's parks and hotels; accuracy of item descriptions may vary. We reserve the right to correct, update, or modify game content at any time.
Certain game modes — including Magic is Out There Trip Mode and Park Hopper — may require a separate in-app purchase to access. See Section 8 for details.
7. Location Services
Some features of Magic Planning use your device's location:
- Trip chat — your location may be used on-device to suggest nearby Disney venues when composing a chat message. Location is not stored on our servers.
- Magic is Out There — the app checks whether your device is within Walt Disney World Resort property (approximately a 10 km radius of the resort center) before enabling the photo upload button. This check is performed on your device and your location is not transmitted to our servers.
You may deny location access at any time in your device's Settings. Denying location access will disable these features but will not affect other functionality.
8. Health Data
The Wellness feature in Magic Planning can optionally read health metrics from Apple Health — specifically steps taken, active calories burned, and exercise minutes logged during your trip. This data is read on-device solely to display your activity within the app. Health data is never transmitted to our servers, stored remotely, or shared with any third party. You can revoke Health access at any time from your device's Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
9. In-App Purchases
Magic Planning offers several categories of in-app purchases. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's Media Services Terms.
Full Premium Access (Non-Renewing Subscriptions)
These unlock both World Traveller and Budget Tracking for the stated period and do not automatically renew:
- 1 Month — 30 days of access to all premium features

Individual Feature Purchases (30-Day Non-Renewing)
Each unlocks a single feature for 30 days and does not automatically renew:

Magic Credits (Consumable)
Magic Credits are a consumable in-app currency used to power AI features. Credits are purchased in bundles and are consumed as follows:
- Each Day Planner generation or rethink costs one (1) Magic Credit
- Credits are non-refundable once consumed
- Unused credits do not expire and carry over between trips and across subscription periods
- Credits are tied to your account and are not transferable to other users
Developer Support
Optional purchases to support ongoing development of Magic Planning:
- One-time tip — a single consumable purchase with no subscription component
- Monthly Support Tier 1 & Tier 2 — auto-renewing monthly subscriptions. These do not unlock any additional features and may be cancelled at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings.
All sales are final. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not offer refunds directly.
10. Notifications
Magic Planning may send push notifications for the following purposes: dining reservation windows, Lightning Lane purchase times, wait time alerts (when an attraction's wait drops to your target), game completions (such as when a player finishes a Park Hopper scavenger hunt), trip reminders, reservation reminders, payment due dates and payment confirmations, flight status updates, Ask an Expert replies, and other trip events. Many notification types include a custom notification sound; you can choose your preferred sound or switch to the system default in the app's Settings. You can manage individual notification categories — including dedicated toggles for wait time alerts and games — in the app's Settings screen or through your device's notification settings at any time.
11. Third-Party Services
Magic Planning integrates with third-party services to provide certain features. Use of these services is subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or accuracy:
- FlightAware — flight status tracking for flights added to a trip
- themeparks.wiki — real-time attraction wait times, show schedules, and operating hours for Disney parks
- Apple WeatherKit — weather forecasts displayed on park day and hotel views
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — receipt analysis (Buddy Pay and dining), shopping item scanning, Park Hopper scavenger hunt item generation, and Day Planner itinerary generation
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
Magic Planning is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reservation timing notifications will fire with perfect accuracy. We do not guarantee the accuracy of live park data, wait times, weather forecasts, or AI-generated content provided by third-party services. Always verify time-sensitive information (such as dining reservation windows) directly with Disney.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Magic Planning and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to missed reservations, lost data, or service interruptions.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you should stop using the app.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Magic Planning shall be resolved in the applicable courts of the United States.
16. Contact
If you have questions about these terms, please contact us at privacy@magic-planning.com.
